One of my favorite channels moved to criten.net and I can't follow it. I
have the latest servers.ini file and mIRC v6.14. I don't even see criten in
the list of servers. When I try to connect using the command "/server
irc.criten.net," the following happens:

[09:15] -faith.criten.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
-
[09:15] -faith.criten.net- *** Checking Ident
-
[09:15] -faith.criten.net- *** Found your hostname
-
[09:15] -faith.criten.net- *** No Ident response
-
[09:15] * [10053] Software caused connection abort
-
[09:15] * Disconnected

My firewall is configured to allow mIRC and I don't have this trouble
connecting to any other server. Also, Identd is turned on, but I always have
received that "No Ident response" with no trouble. The server's website
offers no help whatsoever.

What is the problem and how do I correct it?

Some IRC servers require that you have Identd enabled and accessible from
the outside. For this you need to open port 113 on your firewall for
incoming connections. See if that solves it.
